Energy Data Management

Monitor, analyse and report energy consumption, from single machines to whole plants.

Why it matters

Metalya EDMS supports data-driven energy management, from real-time monitoring to actionable insights, to help control consumption and reduce costs. It collects data from different energy sources, including electricity, gas, water and renewables, and analyses it to reveal usage patterns, trends and inefficiencies. Lower consumption also means lower emissions and a smaller environmental footprint.

  • Visible energy consumption

From single machines to whole plants, consumption is measured and shown in real time.

  • Energy linked to production

Consumption is related to production schedules and peak periods to find savings.

  • Lower costs and emissions

Reducing consumption cuts energy costs and the plant's environmental footprint.

Key features

What it does

  • 01

    Real-time energy monitoring

Collects consumption data from electricity, gas, water and renewable sources, integrating with the existing infrastructure.

  • 02

    Complete visibility on energy usage

A view of consumption across the organisation, from individual equipment to entire facilities, showing usage patterns and opportunities for improvement.

  • 03

    Energy in line with production

Consumption is related to production schedules and peak demand periods, to support cost savings and efficiency gains.

  • 04

    Optimisation insights

Optimisation insights based on production schedules and consumption data help plan energy demand and adjust usage strategies.

  • 05

    Interactive dashboards

Dashboards, real-time visualisation and analysis tools help energy management teams work together and adjust energy usage proactively.

  • 06

    Analytics and reporting

Track energy performance indicators, monitor progress towards sustainability goals and support continuous improvement with transparent reporting.

  1. 01

    Measure

Power signals from connected machines and meters.

  2. 02

    Aggregate

Hourly energy usage per machine and work stage.

  3. 03

    Attribute

Energy linked to the order, product and shift that used it.

  4. 04

    Cost

Energy included in work-order and product cost.

What it covers

Energy per machine. Per stage. Per piece.

Power signals are folded into hourly usage per machine and per work stage — so energy stops being an overhead and becomes part of what each order costs.

Energy data is measured and attributed. Automatic optimisation against tariffs, weather or market prices is not part of the standard product.

  • 01

    Per machine

Hourly usage for each connected machine, alongside its rated power.

  • 02

    Per work stage

Usage attributed to the work stage running at the time — and so to its order and product.

  • 03

    In the cost

Energy flows into costing next to time, labour and material.

  • 04

    In dashboards

Energy views composed with Metalya Studio next to output and downtime.

From data to decisions

EDMS integrates with the existing infrastructure and processes the data it collects with analytical and machine-learning techniques, to bring out usage patterns, trends and inefficiencies that are hard to see in raw readings. The results are shared through dashboards and reports, so energy, production and management teams can decide together where to act. Transparent reporting on energy performance also helps the company demonstrate its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Energy demand forecasts

Consumption patterns and production schedules support more reliable forecasts of energy demand. These forecasts help the company make commitments to energy suppliers and other stakeholders with greater confidence, reducing the risk of shortages or penalties. Production fluctuations and other changing conditions can be taken into account when energy usage strategies are reviewed.
